Marcie Chambers PhD

CEO & Founder

Dr. Marcie Chambers received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was in private practice for a number of years, treating clients for depression, anxiety, trauma, codependency and addiction. Her practice included treating individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Chambers taught psychology at the University of Colorado, Regis University and Metro State College. Dr. Chambers opened The Rose House in Boulder County, Colorado in 2008.

Dr. William received his medical degree from University of Benin College of Medicine. He was Chief Resident at the University at Harlem Hospital Center, College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia. Dr. William is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, board certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) and Member of the Colorado Psychiatric Society.

Ann grew up in an Army family, traveling the world – including spending two years in India.  She was enamored with different cultures and was interested in psychology from an early age.  After her family settled in Virginia, she received her BA in Psychology from William and Mary and then her MSW from Adelphi University.  New York, Chicago and Atlanta were home before moving to Lafayette, CO in 1999.

     

Ann has spent her professional life working for organizations providing intensive treatment services to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use issues.  She enjoys the business development and customer service aspects as well as the clinical and systems aspects of the field and is passionate about creating an engaging, professional and supportive environment for staff and clients.  Since 1990 she has worked in psychiatric hospitals and substance abuse treatment centers in a variety of roles including Business Development Liaison, Director of Outpatient Services, Director of Intake, Service Excellence Trainer and Clinical Director.

  

Ann loves God, family, skiing, reading/writing, a good sense of humor and incredible friends!

Larry Algiene is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and has been practicing since 2008. Larry has a BS in Computer Information Systems from Colorado Christian University. He has a MA in Clinical and School Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and is a Certified Addictions Counselor II. Larry has extensive experience with Parole, Probation and Correctional settings including Drug Court treatment in Weld County. Larry was a member of the Colorado Army National Guard for 17 years and specializes in CBT, DBT, Family Systems and Crisis management. Larry has been married for 15 years and spends all of his free time chasing his son and daughter.

Dr. Barbara Flood holds a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology and an MSW from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Dr. Flood is a trained addictions counselor and a trauma therapist who has been treating clients for over 30 years. She has extensive training in addressing traumatic events such as childhood sexual, emotional, or physical abuse; rape or sexual assault; intimate partner violence; traumatic grief; and general traumatic events. Dr. Flood has extensive training in grief and loss, Gestalt Therapy, trauma reduction, mindfulness, Play, Sand and Art therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Dr. Flood has taught psychology in several university, graduate and undergraduate programs including Naropa, CU Denver, and Metropolitan University of Denver.

Melissa is a 3rd year graduate student in Naropa University's Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling program and graduated magna cum laude with her BA in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts. Melissa has 7+ years working with a diverse range of clients, including resettling refugee women and adults with complex co-occurring disorders. She is truly passionate about women's issues and has run women's groups and young girls groups with the goals of empowerment and healing. She has completed training in Gestalt techniques, includes Hakomi theory, CBT and DBT skills, and has advanced mindfulness skills training. Her studies have been focused on sexuality and sexual trauma, PTSD, self harm, grief, spirituality, and motherhood/parenting. Having overcome addiction herself, she is committed to holding hope for the women that come through the Rose House and truly believes in their potential to rebuild a life filled with grace, meaning, and joy. When she is not studying or serving clients, she is likely spending time with her husband and two children, squeezing in some knitting, hiking, or Qi Gong, and continuing to work within her own meditation/mindfulness practice. She is grateful to be at the Rose House.

Rebecca is originally from South Dakota. She has been in Colorado now for over 20 years and grateful to live in such a beautiful place. She enjoys spending time in the mountains especially in the Fall. She feels blessed to be the mother of three beautiful children. She is currently working on her Associates in Psychology and her CAC I. In recovery herself, she knows the journey these women are embarking on and is passionate about sharing her experience, strength and hope each step of the way. In addition to supporting the women in the house, she works as the Family Coordinator to give support and resources to family members so they may better support their loved ones and themselves. Addiction and mental illness is a family disease and it is important that each member of the family get the care and support they need. She is grateful to be a part of an amazing team at the Rose House and have the chance to help other women discover what a gift they are.

Allison grew up in Morrison, Colorado, close to the beautiful Red Rocks. During her free time, she can be found outdoors - hiking, exploring and enjoying Mother Nature, or appreciating live music shows! She treasures being a mom and spending quality time with her family. Allison is working toward obtaining her CAC II. She is passionate about recovery, in Love with Life and feels blessed to be a part of the Rose House staff. Having completed the Rose House program herself, Allison is grateful for the chance to help women on their journey of recovery!

Cristy grew up in Boulder and loved it so much that she stayed and attended CU. Cristy graduated from the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business.

Cristy’s interests include volunteering, hiking, reading and traveling. She is a big sports fan and enjoys watching ice hockey and football. Her most treasured times are with her husband and two sons.

Alex Griffin, RN

Alex earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as well as a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder. She has experience working as a RN with people rehabilitating from traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, patients undergoing withdraw from substance use and those recovering from eating disorders. In addition she has worked as a recreational therapeutic instructor alongside individuals with developmental delays. She has a passion for rehabilitation therapy. Her focus is the therapeutic process and being able to engage with patients continually as they develop along their path. Alex is honored to work with Rose House and to be a part of the recovery process.
